Meet Goode Custom Designs

Goode Custom Designs are an Australian based business, operating out of Melbourne. The business began when the owner, John Goode, started making his own furniture, decor and miscellaneous out of wood as a teenager. His friends then started asking him to make things for them too. After seeing the market for it, John took a multi-media course in Graphic Design, Illustration and 3D animation. Upon completing this course, he purchased some printing equipment and began making signs. In 2015 John moved to Australia with the intention of offering more than signs, however, without a network base this proved difficult. John didn't let this deter him and he got a job as a sales representative, where he met lots of people and grew a network base. Some of these new client's started asking for fit outs and shop renovations which at first John outsourced, however, the lead time was long and the cost was very high, so he started researching CNCs and came across SmartBench.

Goode Custom Designs and SmartBench

When John stumbled across SmartBench he was working out of 2 car garage - so SmartBench's compactness helped him get a CNC without sacrificing space. The price was also appealing to John as the cost of outsourcing the job was a third of the cost of SmartBench. In addition, he could use SmartBench for the signage side of his business, cutting ACM and acrylic lettering. Goode Custom Designs love SmartBench for a few reason, it has helped keep all his work inhouse, drastically reduced turnaround time and removed the stress of someone else doing his work.

Quote

John loves "the useability [of SmartBench] and the small footprint while still being able to do full sheets." and when asked to describe SmartBench in three words he chose, "easeabilty, compact, efficient".
